Beyond our
doors. We also express
our love for our neighbors through hands-on ministry and
financial outreach. We provide assistance for Meals On
Wheels. We collect food for the hungry. We store furniture
for distribution to those in need. We contribute toward
world peace, disaster relief, youth programs in Secaucus,
the Nature Conservancy, ecumenical activities, diocesan
outreach, and other activities. Purchases from affiliate
on-line merchants provide commissions which support our
public service outreach.
A bit of history.
The Church of Our Saviour was born in 1924
when a group of Episcopalians grew tired of traveling to
Jersey City for worship and organized a congregation in
Secaucus. They erected the church building still in use
today, a prefabricated structure purchased from the Sears
& Roebuck catalogue. It originally stood across the
street but was moved to its present site in 1953. Many
changes have been made since then.
